InnoScan 1100 microarray scanner: new publication
Co-enrichment of proteins in extracellular
vesicles using antibody microarray powered by InnoScan
A recent Nature Communications study introduces protein co‑enrichment (CoEn) as a normalized metric for quantifying pairwise protein association in extracellular vesicles (EVs). Using a custom antibody microarray and an InnoScan 1100AL scanner, the authors profiled up to 240 protein pairs in EVs from parental MDA‑MB‑231 breast cancer cells and four organotropic sublines (bone, lung, liver, brain). CoEn, calculated as the log ratio of co‑expression to global expression, reduces confounding from baseline protein abundance. The analysis revealed distinct CoEn patterns across organotropisms, suggesting that CoEn‑based EV profiling may offer a promising avenue for developing liquid‑biopsy biomarkers for metastasis, though further validation is needed.
