InnoScan 710-IR Microarray Scanner Enables Critical Insights into COVID-19 Autoantibody Responses

A recent proteomic study employed the InnoScan 710-IR microarray scanner to comprehensively analyze IgG autoantibody profiles in SARS-CoV-2 infected individuals. The research systematically compared serum samples from patients with severe and moderate COVID-19 against those from recipients of the inactivated CoronaVac vaccine. Findings demonstrated a significant expansion of autoreactive IgG targeting intracellular and membrane-associated proteins in severe COVID-19 cases, which was notably absent in vaccinated individuals. The InnoScan system provided high-resolution, fluorescence-based detection essential for robust profiling of antibody-protein interactions across a proteome-wide microarray. This work underscores the distinct immunological outcomes of natural infection versus vaccination and highlights the value of advanced proteomic technologies in elucidating pathogenic mechanisms.
